UW-Parkside Juried Student Art Exhibition Information – 2014

Show opens March 31 and closes April 23. The opening reception is on April 9, from 5pm – 7pm. The show will be in the Foundation Gallery in the Rita building, and is open from 10am – 4pm on weekdays.
Entry Eligibility
  • Entry is open to all current UW-Parkside students, students who graduated during the 2013 fall semester, and students who are currently auditing classes.
  • Entry fee is $3.00 per piece with a maximum of FIVE pieces.
  • Participants may enter personal or student work in any medium.
  • 2D work must be matted or framed, paintings and frames must be prepared for wall mounting, and digital pieces must be submitted on a CD or DVD. Any work that is not prepared for wall mounting (wire on back) or display will not be accepted.
  • Work that has been in previous student exhibitions hosted by ACE will not be accepted.

Scholarship Eligibility
The scholarship prize is only eligible to declared art majors who are returning to Parkside in the fall 2014 semester as a part-time or full-time student.

Reception Speaker Opt-In
ACE is inviting students in the exhibition to speak at the opening reception. You may speak about your entered piece, your work ethics, or the exhibition. Speakers have a maximum of ten minutes.

Sazzy B’s Opt-In
2D work from this exhibition will have the opportunity to be put on display at Sazzy B’s (5623 6th Ave, Kenosha). With permission, Amy Misurelli-Sorensen and Glen Larson will take the piece to the restaurant after the exhibition.

The winners are chosen by the juror(s), and will be announced at the reception on April 9th from 5:00-7:00. The prizes are as follows:

  • First Place: $200
  • Second Place: $100
  • Third Place: $50
  • Honorable Mentions (at least 2): Art supplies and/or gift cards
  • Art Scholarship: $600

Entry Drop-Off
Entries can be dropped off in Rita D113, the Fibers Room, on these days:
March 19: 5pm – 8pm
March 20: 2pm – 4pm
March 21: 12pm – 2pm

Rejected Art Pick-Up
Judging will be held on March 28th. Rejected artwork can be picked up in the gallery on:
March 29: 10am – 3pm
March 31: 11am – 1:30pm

Entry Pick-Up
The Student Show closes on April 23rd. Pick up times are as follows:
April 23: 5pm – 8pm (Foundation Gallery)
April 24: 4pm – 5pm (Rita D113)
April 25: 12pm -2pm (Rita D113)

Artwork not picked up by the pickup date will become property of ACE. We do not deliver artwork. Please make arrangements with ACE if you cannot pick up at those times.
